I agree, we should fix the color coding of already-visited-links in our blog's style sheet.

I'm glad Nick brought up the basic cartridge - I was going to, then got distracted and had to run off. I fiddled around with the basic cartridge back in the day, but preferred my friend's TRS-80 for basic programming.

Yes Rob did indeed work on Wrong Button (took me a moment to remember this was the Missile Command box). Someone really needs to make Wild and Groovy Moon Combat. Something for Ian's Atari 2600 class to do next year...

I love the "Forum Referee" idea. I wish every long and heated thread came with a forum referee analysis that provides a high-level gloss of the thread (both content and meta-content) and calls foul where foul is due.

BTW, I added the stupid seeming "yes, this is a link", because it wasn't showing up as a visible link in my web browser (turns out the style for "already followed linked" is indistinguishable from normal text to my tired eyes).

I was wondering if there was something BASIC I had forgotten! Looking again at that cartridge — wow, that's crazy. What kinds of programs did people make with it? Here are screenshots of the manual. Wow.

Also, the forum moderation you linked to is hilarious. That's the feisty Rob I know alright!

Michael - the last one, certainly. But something about that game puzzles me. How can you press the wrong button on an Atari joystick?

Andrew - the Atari 2600 was a player-programmable system!

If you can't read enough on the topic Andrew introduced, see Jason Scott's volunteer moderation of the ranging AtariAge thread and Digital Press thread about Actionauts.
