Dan is a great and very dynamic guy indeed, and his teaching and work is well worth checking out. I met him when he came down to sit in on Charles Bernstein's seminar at Penn last semester. He wrote a Processing piece in response to some of the things discussed in the class!

Last Tuesday, I "visited" (via iChat AV) Dan's class "Programming from A to Z," which deals with creative text processing, to talk about interactive fiction a bit. In addition to helping his students through a challenging course of study, he also managed to handle the telecommunications well enough so that this wasn't a farce, which is no mean feat.

Thanks for these notes about his work and teaching, Mary.
